ATOM’s Five Behaviours

At ATOM, we acknowledge that one of the main drivers of business success is behaviour, which is why ATOM’s five behaviours were developed to guide our corporate culture and the way we operate. However, our five behaviours are only meaningful if our people demonstrate them consistently.

Since we launched the ATOM brand in June 2022, I have been proud to see how the teams at ATOM have put these behaviours into practice and, more importantly, that our employees understand how their behaviours influence our performance towards operating a world-class telecommunications network for the people of Myanmar and supporting #BeyondBetter growth for the country.

In previous articles, my colleagues have expanded on each of ATOM’s five behaviours which can be summarised as follows:

Be Respectful: We encourage our employees to show respect by caring, listening and demonstrating equity. A respectful workplace environment reduces workplace stress, problems, and conflicts, which leads to increased employee satisfaction.

Be Transparent: A transparent workplace, with open communication at all levels, boosts employee engagement and company culture.  ATOM’s approach to transparency is by being open, honest and sincere, we foster an environment in which our employees are able to communicate freely and provide constructive feedback. We trust them to do their jobs without micromanaging them.

Keep It Simple and Smart (K.I.S.S.): At ATOM, we encourage our teams to practise the ‘KISS’ way of working. We implement simplified work process structures for our employees to prioritise their time and work while encouraging them to focus on tasks that will have the greatest long-term impact. Our simple, smart and dedicated approach enables us to operate in a streamlined and efficient manner.

Explore to Innovate: Innovation is an important aspect of any organization’s progress, and at ATOM, we spur innovative thinking among our employees by empowering them with learning opportunities, encouraging them to be curious in identifying problems and to be bold and daring when developing solutions.

Deliver on Commitments: To deliver on commitments means doing what we say we’ll do, through collaboration among our employees and with partners that are grounded on trust, integrity, and accountability. We encourage our teams at ATOM to cultivate mutual respect, practise appropriate ethical behaviour, and take responsibility for their actions.  This ensures that commitments turn into results.
