"Balance Shield" Service

“Balance Shield” is the new feature from ATOM designed for ATOM Prepaid users, offering an effective way to control your phone bill regarding data usage. 


“Balance Shield” service will allow you to avoid exceeding your phone balance charges by using the data with Pay-as-you-go rate from your remaining phone balance when your purchase ATOM data pack runs out or expired.


How to subscribe
To stop using data from your remaining phone balance after your purchased data pack is completed:
Dial *1909#


You will receive a confirmation SMS upon successful activation.

 

To resume data usage from your remaining phone balance:
Dial *1909#

The system will reactivate the service upon your request for continued data usage from your phone balance.
 

Dos & Don’ts with “Balance Shield” Service

Once the “Balance Shield” service is activated, to continue using the internet, you must purchase a Data Package. Additionally, you’ll need to either toggle Airplane Mode on and off or restart your phone to ensure proper functionality.
If you have activated the “Balance Shield” service but completely run out of data, you won’t be able to perform any internet-related activities.
To resume internet access in such situations, you can purchase your preferred ATOM Data Package by dialing *979*2*2# or via ATOM Store App. After purchasing the package, restart your phone or toggle Airplane Mode on and off to start using the data.
To avoid any interruptions in data usage, we recommend exploring ATOM promotional Data Packages through the ATOM Store App or by dialing *979*2*2#.
Additionally, to save on data costs: 

  • Limit background data usage for Apps you don’t need while connected to the internet.
  • These steps will help you manage your data more efficiently and ensure uninterrupted connectivity.

Terms and Conditions

1.    The “Balance Shield” service is exclusively available for ATOM Prepaid Plan users.
2.    ATOM Prepaid users can activate the service via USSD *1909#. Once successfully activated, data usage through the Pay-as-you-go rate from your phone balance will be automatically disabled.
3.    This service only disables data usage via the Pay-as-you-go rate. It does not affect other services such as calls, SMS, or Value-Added Services (VAS) that use your remaining phone balance.
4.    If you have no remaining data after activating the “Balance Shield”, you will not be able to use the internet until a Data Package is purchased.
5.    To resume internet access, purchase a Data Package and either toggle Airplane Mode on and off or restart your phone.
6.    “Balance Shield” cannot be activated while you are subscribed to any of ATOM discounted promotional packages.
7.    Once the validity of your ATOM discounted promotional package expires, you can activate the “Balance Shield” service again. To check the expiry date of your promotional package, dial *979*3*8#.
8.    If you activate any ATOM discounted promotional package while the “Balance Shield” service is active, the “Balance Shield” will automatically be deactivated. You will receive an SMS notification for this action.
9.    After activating or deactivating Balance Shield, you need to either toggle Airplane Mode on and off or restart your phone for the changes to take effect.
10.    You will receive a confirmation SMS whenever you activate or deactivate the Balance Shield service.
11.    Once Balance Shield is active, you will receive a weekly reminder SMS about the service. If you have deactivated the service upon receipt of the reminder, you can ignore the notification.
12.    In the event of inconsistency or discrepancy between the English and Myanmar version of these Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.
13.    ATOM Myanmar Limited also assumes no responsibility for any loss or damage or expenses arising in connection with this “Balance Shield” Service, howsoever arising, including without limitation, from any late or non-notification, any error in computing, technical hardware or software breakdown, malfunctions or defects, failed, delayed or incorrect transactions, or lost or unavailable network connections, or any notice that is lost or misdirected and any situation which is beyond the control of ATOM Myanmar, which may affect for any Users. 
14.    In the event of any dispute regarding this “Balance Shield” Service, ATOM Myanmar's decision will be final and conclusive. At any time, ATOM Myanmar reserves the right to amend this terms and condition at all or any part thereof.

  2. After completing Step 1, toggle Airplane mode on and off or restart your phone to resume data usage.

ATOM Discounted promotional Offers provide data, calls, and SMS at special promotional rates using your phone main balance. To check your current discounted offer’s validity, dial *979*3*8#.

No, you cannot activate Balance Shield if you subscribe to a Discounted promotional Offer. However, you can activate Balance Shield once the offer expires or is deactivated.

If you activate a Discounted promotional Offer while Balance Shield is active, the service will be automatically deactivated. You will receive an SMS notification regarding this change.

You will receive a weekly notification SMS confirming that Balance Shield is active. If you have deactivated the service upon receipt of the reminder, you can ignore the notification.
