Sim Registration

SIM cards are required to be registered by Myanmar law. PTD has instructed mobile operators to limit the number of SIMs registered to individual customers to two (2). You can only register two ATOM SIM cards to your national ID (NRIC).SIM cards are required to be registered by Myanmar law. If you want to check your registration, please send “REG” to number 500, or dial *979*3*3#. If your SIM cards is registered, you will see the NRIC number of the registered card holder. If you need to change the registration, please use one of the routes outlined above. Not all SIMs have been registered to the current SIM card holder. This is due to difference practices and regulations over the years since ATOM launched its services in 2014.

If your SIM card has not been registered, your SIM card risks being barred after 30 April 2020 and terminated after 30 June 2020. To avoid any disruption in services, please use one of the methods for SIM registration outlined above.

There are no charges for SIM registration. When you register your SIM card successfully with your NRIC, you can grab free data or balance.

Whether you register online or at a shop, you will need the following: • Your SIM card (and your handset) • Your NRIC card or your passport (for foreigners) A successful registration contains your full name, your NRIC number and photos of the front and back of your NRIC card.

To register your SIM through self-registration channels (https://www.atom.com.mm/my/personal/ecaf or ATOM Store App), you need to log in using ATOM phone number. Upon login, you will receive a 4-digit code to your SIM. Use this code to enter into system and continue the registration.

In light of the COVID-19 situation, we recommend that you use online channels such as this website or the ATOM Store App to register your SIM card. If you need to visit a ATOM shop or seek assistance from our representatives, please keep safe distance from other and protect yourself. The following options are available:

Prepaid Sim

You can buy at any store provided by ATOM and at ATOM stores. You can only buy SIM cards by filling out the form provided by ATOM. Form details can be inquired at ATOM stores.

For now, it will only be available in stores and will be available online later.

You can buy with National ID or passport (if you are a foreigner).

You can call ATOM Call Center at 09790097900 or inquire at your nearest phone shop or send an email to care@atom.com.mm.

  • Step 1: Meet with our sales staff at ATOM brand shop 
  • Step 2: Show your NRC to register your SIM card. The sale staff will check the number of SIM registered under your name.   
  • Step 3:  If there are 2 SIM cards registered, please let our staff know the number that you’d like to remove.  
  • Step 4: If this is your first using ATOM SIM card or if you only have 1 SIM card, you may choose the number of your preference and register the new SIM card. 
  • Step 5: If the registration is successful, the new SIM costs 1500 kyats with additional commercial tax of 20,000 kyats upon activation.
  • Step 6: You can start using the new SIM card once you have made the first-time recharge.

New SIM cards registered after 8 January 2022 are subject to commercial tax of 20,000 kyats upon activation. Tax is paid as a one-time fee to the operator upon activation. Already existing SIM cards are not subject to SIM tax. 
 

The new SIM costs 1500 kyats with additional commercial tax of 20,000 kyats upon activation.

Tourist Sim

No. No action is needed from end users.

Foreign passport with Valid Visa.

SIM card will be valid for 30 days. But if any top up happened within 30 days SIM will be extended as standard life cycle.

It is a prepaid SIM come with preloaded value.
