Yangon, Myanmar, 24 January 2024 – ATOM, Myanmar's leading 4.5G VoLTE network provider, celebrated a momentous occasion on 24 January 2024 with a donation ceremony at Madrasah Arabia Anwarul-Uloom Boys and Girls Boarding School located in Oak Kan, Taikkyi Township, Yangon Region. To support the school's over 350 students with improved learning conditions and practical resources, ATOM contributed items valued at over MMK 90 million (90,000,000 Kyats) which include customised wardrobes, bookshelves, steel tables, teak settees, chest freezers, and a 30KVA diesel generator.

The comprehensive donation is part of ATOM's school development programme for 2024, under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) pillar of Advancing Life and Education, and it comprises the following:

Customised Furniture for Students and Staff: 14 wardrobes, 5 bookshelves, 100 steel tables crafted with high-quality materials, and 2 sets of teak settees (7 pieces in each set) for long-lasting durability.

Reliable Food Storage: Six new chest freezers (Glacier brand) to replace outdated units and ensure ample space for food items and perishables.

Uninterrupted Learning: A 30KVA single-phase diesel generator (Super SAK-30 model) with a one-year/1,000-running-hour service warranty, ensuring 24/7 electricity for the school. This replaces the previous generator, which could not meet the school's full electricity needs.

"In line with our commitment to education in Myanmar, ATOM is contributing towards nurturing learning environments that unlock the potential of students. That's why we're excited to support Madrasah Arabia Anwarul-Uloom Boys and Girls Boarding School with this donation, tailor-made to address their specific needs. I believe the customised furniture, reliable freezers, and 24/7 power security will not only enhance the school's operations, but also ensure uninterrupted learning to empower the students to reach for their dreams and contribute to a brighter future for Myanmar,” shared U Win Paing Kyaw, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of ATOM.

Said U Maung Shwe, Chairman of Madrasah Arabia Anwarul-Uloom Boys and Girls Boarding School, "We are filled with gratitude for ATOM's generosity. These new resources are not just practical assets, but a tangible expression of care and support for our students. The custom furniture provides much-needed storage, the freezers allow us to safely store food, and the powerful generator guarantees uninterrupted learning and supports the daily living needs of our school community."

Over a 19-month period, as of December 2023, ATOM has contributed a remarkable MMK 2.274 billion to various causes in alignment with its key focus areas: Advancing Life & Education, Digitalisation of Education & Health, and Humanitarian Care & Support. These initiatives have positively impacted the lives of 346,520 individuals across Myanmar.

Under the Advancing Life & Education CSR pillar, ATOM has contributed towards the construction and renovation of school facilities at eight orphanage schools in 2022 and 2023, benefiting over 2,603 students. These projects have provided students with access to safe, quality learning environments, enabling them to reach their full potential.

Additionally, in December 2023, ATOM donated a braille printer and printing paper to the Myanmar Christian Fellowship of the Blind (MCFB) to enable the school to produce educational materials for visually impaired youths.

Moving forward, ATOM plans to conduct activities under the banner of "ATOM WITH THE HEART," that will enhance access to quality education and healthcare services, while providing ongoing humanitarian care and support, ensuring a continuous positive impact on communities in need.
