Yangon, Myanmar, 14 November 2024 – To continue delivering free telemedicine services for customers, Myanmar’s leading 4.5G VoLTE telecom provider, ATOM signed a contract extension with Trust Oo Co., Ltd., on 14 November 2024 at the Sule Square Office. ATOM has invested nearly MMK 200 million to provide free medical consultations for over 200,000 individuals across Myanmar in the past two years. This telemedicine initiative, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme by ATOM, aimed at supporting free unlimited call access and 24/7 healthcare teleconsultation services for all ATOM users especially for underserved communities.
ATOM believes everyone deserves access to healthcare, regardless of where they live. With 70% of the Myanmar population in rural and underserved areas, ATOM is focused on making a difference by implementing this telemedicine programme to benefit those communities directly. As part of its “People-First” culture, ATOM recognises the importance of caring for the community’s well-being and provides reliable, convenient, and safe access to healthcare.
Mr. Ahmad Abdallah, Chief Executive Officer of ATOM said, “It’s so rewarding to know that over 200,000 ATOM users have received the help they need from our telemedicine service in the last two years. Seeing how much this programme is helping those who need it most motivates us to keep it going. That is why we are extending our partnership with Trust Oo Co., Ltd. We are proud to give back to the community and remain as a responsible brand, to keep making a positive impact through our innovative solutions.”
“ATOM has proudly contributed almost MMK 200 million for the toll-free healthcare telemedicine services to date. We’re delighted to extend this partnership with Trust Oo, and I’d like to encourage ATOM users to take advantage of the unlimited calls to the 7887 hotline, as it is completely free. Dedicated medical team is ready to help you stay healthy.” said U Thein Hoke, the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of ATOM.
To access this service for free, ATOM users simply need to dial ‘7887’ from their ATOM sim card or call directly from the ATOM store app. Then, the call will be directed to a healthcare provider where users can have free consultations with doctors.
From 1st May to 30th Sept 2024, the telemedicine programme also implemented a 5-month campaign where users participated and had the chance to win many rewards. The Monthly Lucky Draw winners received health supplements, mobile phones, and family wellness kits, including an oximeter, blood pressure machine, thermometer, first-aid kit, and weight scale. Whereas the two “Major Medical Treatment Support Prize” winners were supported with up to MMK 5 million of medical assistance. The winners of the 5-month-long telemedicine campaign were announced at the signing event.
Committed to offering more of everything, ATOM aims to continuously improve its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and expand its reach to provide even more customers with reliable and convenient access to healthcare services.
