Yangon, Myanmar, 7 April 2023 – ATOM, the provider of Myanmar’s best 4.5G network, has won two prestigious awards at the Asian Telecom Awards 2023. ATOM was awarded the ‘Telecom Company of the Year – Myanmar’ and the ‘Mobile Operator of the Year – Myanmar’ awards in recognition of excellence in the telecoms service industry. The awards were presented to ATOM during a ceremony held in Singapore on 6 April 2023.
The Asian Telecom Awards, held for the second year, recognize the achievements of the most outstanding telecommunications companies across Asia. The awards demonstrate ATOM's commitment to providing exceptional services to its customers, its success in establishing the ATOM brand since it was launched in June 2022, and its ability to deliver innovation-led and community-focused initiatives while overcoming business challenges.
Commenting on the double win, Mr. Muhammad Ziaullah Siddiqui, Chief Executive Officer of ATOM Myanmar said, “We are honoured to receive both the ‘Telecom Company of the Year – Myanmar’ and the ‘Mobile Operator of the Year – Myanmar’ awards at the Asian Telecom Awards 2023. This recognition is a testament to our commitment to delivering innovative, reliable, and community-focused services in Myanmar. We will continue to invest in our network and digital ecosystem to provide our customers with the best experiences possible.”
The 'Telecom Company of the Year - Myanmar' award acknowledges ATOM’s exceptional performance in the country's telecommunications industry. This award highlights ATOM's significant contributions in delivering world-class services to its customers, even in the face of business challenges.
Within 100 days, ATOM introduced its new brand identity to the market, completed the successful transition of its managed services to a new infrastructure vendor, including the migration of roaming services to new suppliers, and established its own physical point of presence in Singapore. This accomplishment was achieved without impacting its network and within a short timeframe, compared to the ideal requirement of one year.
“We are grateful for these prestigious awards and the incredible recognition. Our team is driven by a shared passion to make a difference in the lives of our customers by providing them with innovative solutions that meet their evolving needs. We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to our customers for their trust and loyalty, our partners for their support, and the ATOM team for their unwavering commitment to excellence,” said U Win Paing Kyaw, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of ATOM.
The 'Mobile Operator of the Year - Myanmar' award recognizes ATOM’s success in delivering high-quality mobile services to its customers. This award reinforces ATOM's position as a leading mobile operator in Myanmar which provides innovative solutions that meet the ever-changing needs of its customers.
This includes the launch of the ATOM Store app, which connects customers to a myriad of digital services, and the introduction of innovative and engaging campaigns such as the Toh Toh Sidecar 3D game, and the Let's Play Arena gaming platform. ATOM serves more than 18 million customers and operates approximately 9,000 telecommunication towers in Myanmar, with its services available in 95% of the country.
“ATOM’s unwavering commitment to innovative solutions has paved the way for their outstanding achievements in the telecoms sector. Their projects have positively impacted the lives of the communities they serve. Winning at the Asian Telecom Awards with the Telecom Company of the Year and Mobile Operator of the Year for Myanmar is a testament to their dedication and excellence,” said Tim Charlton, Editor-In-Chief, Charlton Media Group.
The Asian Telecom Awards is organised by leading business magazine Asian Business Review, which is published by Singapore-based Charlton Media Group. The judging panel for the Asian Telecom Awards comprised representatives from Deloitte, KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), and Ernst & Young (EY) – known as the Big 4 firms in management consulting.
