Advancing Life and Education
ATOM has made significant contributions to advancing life and education in Myanmar. The company has donated MMK 882 million to support the construction and renovation of school facilities at eight orphanage schools, benefiting over 2,603 students. These projects have provided students with access to safe, quality learning environments, enabling them to reach their full potential.
Digitalisation of Education and Health
ATOM is committed to bridging the digital divide and promoting access to technology in Myanmar. Through its telemedicine initiative, ATOM has invested MMK 86 million to provide free 24/7 medical consultations to over 86,696 individuals, improving access to healthcare services, especially in underserved areas. Additionally, ATOM has established ICT labs in four schools, valued at a total of MMK 72 million, benefiting 6,970 students and equipping them with essential digital skills for the 21st century.
Humanitarian Care and Support
ATOM has demonstrated its dedication to humanitarian care and support by providing relief to communities affected by natural disasters. Some examples in 2023 include ATOM’s donation of MMK 258 million to provide essential aid to 19,050 individuals in Rakhine State in response to Cyclone Mocha. In addition, ATOM extended support to communities impacted by floods in Mon and Kayin states, and Bago Region, by donating more than MMK 96 million to provide food supplies, water purification tablets, and electrolytes to over 21,000 people.
ATOM demonstrated its compassionate spirit through its 'Season of Gratitude' initiative in late 2022 which saw the company donate rice bags valued at MMK 540 million to 150,000 beneficiaries, providing much-needed assistance to alleviate food insecurity and support vulnerable communities. From June 2022 to December 2023, ATOM also engaged in a range of other donation activities and social contributions amounting to MMK 340 million, reaching an additional 60,201 beneficiaries.
ATOM’s Culture of Social Responsibility & Employee Volunteers
ATOM's social responsibility endeavours are deeply embedded in the company's culture, as evidenced by the active involvement of its employees in community service initiatives. Since August 2022, ATOM has organised 14 CSR events, each attracting an average of 20 employee volunteers eager to give back to the community. The active engagement of ATOM employees in CSR activities not only contributes to the success of these initiatives but also cultivates a culture of compassion and social responsibility within the company.
ATOM’s CSR Priorities for 2024
In 2024, ATOM will expand its CSR initiatives with the introduction of a new and impactful pillar focused on environmental projects, driving sustainable development. Concurrently, under the banner of "ATOM WITH THE HEART," the company plans to conduct activities that will enhance access to quality education and healthcare services, while providing ongoing humanitarian care and support, ensuring a continuous positive impact on communities in need.
Nurturing Myanmar's next generation will also be a key focus for ATOM, as it seeks to build local talent pools and engage with aspiring youths by offering internships, scholarships, and mentorship. Further fuelling passion for technology, ATOM's Tech Masterminds programme, in collaboration with channel partners, will offer exciting challenges and mentorship opportunities.
ATOM measures its long-term CSR efforts by the number of lives positively impacted, while upholding labour and human rights through its Code of Conduct within its own operations and supply chain. ATOM's dedication to ethical business practices extends to its employees through a company-wide Anti-Corruption training and awareness campaign, reinforcing its commitment to transparency. To date, ATOM has conducted over 1,100 inspections and provided over 2,000 man-hours of training to suppliers, ensuring adherence to its Supplier Code of Principles.
